NOT Lawyers was established in 1996. We are a small, independent firm with the abilities, experience and resources usually associated with much larger firms.

We are led by three very experienced commercial lawyers with extensive experience in advising and acting for both commercial and individual clients.

Areas of representation and experience include:

Corporate Insolvency and Business Recovery

Michael O’Neill and Simon Gallant, both partners of NOT Lawyers, are widely regarded for their specialist expertise in the complex area of company law known as corporate insolvency and reconstruction.

If your business (whether small, medium or large) finds itself in financial difficulties, or, alternatively, finds itself exposed to a company under some form of insolvency administration (voluntary administration, liquidation, receivership), Michael O’Neill and Simon Gallant can assist.

NOT Lawyers acts for many of Sydney’s leading firms of administrators, liquidators and receivers.

NOT Lawyers also act for financiers, directors, management, creditors (secured and unsecured), litigation funders, shareholders and other interested parties involved in insolvency administrations. NOT Lawyers often acts for clients who seek to acquire business assets from insolvency administrators.

Recently, for instance, Michael O’Neill has acted as legal advisor to the Special Purpose Liquidator of One.Tel, with the task of investigating potential claims of over $100 million.

Simon Gallant continues to act for the liquidators of the Traveland Group, part of the Ansett collapse.
